We’re proud to welcome French mangaka Anaïs Eustache to our next edition of Japan Impact!

Since childhood, Anaïs has been captivated by the world of drawing and manga, inspired by classics such as Sailor Moon and Sakura Chasseuse de Cartes. At the age of 12, she began creating her own stories and developed a passion for traditional color illustration. Her talent and imagination led her to share her world through a blog, before enrolling in a comic book school where she graduated at 21.

In 2020, Anaïs published her first manga series, Azure (3 volumes), followed by Circée, her new work in progress, published by Clair de Lune. The final volume of Circée is expected in late 2024. ✨

At Japan Impact 2025, Anaïs will host two duo conferences with Jéronimo Cejudo, where they will share their journeys as mangakas in France, as well as on urban fantasy, a genre that inspires their creations.

Hall-Kamishibaï

Tuesday, January 28, 2025
Meet little K - Discover the art of kamishibai

The Musée des Contes invites you to discover the art of kamishibai at the 16th edition of Japan Impact, a form of Japanese storytelling that first appeared almost a century ago. 📜

Back then, storytellers carried their little wooden theaters on the luggage racks of their bicycles, captivating crowds of children in the streets of Japanese cities with their illustrated tales. At Japan Impact, Vevey-based Le Musée des contes et récits made the trip to captivate you with their narration of Japanese tales and legends. 🎭

And why not try your hand at this art form? Take your place as a reader, and in turn become a storyteller, transporting your listeners for the duration of a tale: from the depths of the ocean to the summit of Mount Fuji, populated by humans … or fantastic creatures.
