About Wako Aïkido Nyon
“Aikido” means “the way of unified energy”: it is a search for harmony between the body, the “heart-mind,” and energy (Ki).
It is an art based on fluid and continuous movements, where the rigor and realism of combat are present, while aiming to respect the integrity of each person’s body.
Jean-Charles Wälti Sensei
Jean-Charles Wälti Sensei, 7th dan Aikikai Tokyo, has been teaching aikido for over 35 years in Geneva and Nyon. He is a student of Hikitsuchi Sensei and maintains a constant link with Japan, where he accompanies students every year.
In 1994, he was awarded the status of instructor by his master and, a few years later, the title of Shihan (“master”), as well as the mandate to teach aikido in Switzerland.
This direct and lasting relationship fosters a demanding transmission that is faithful to the authentic spirit of aikido.
