Kenjutsu and Battōjutsu are the Japanese martial arts most closely tied to the sword. Katana, wakizashi, nodachi, tantō—every blade wielded by the samurai is included. Blending Zen and Shintō influences and inspired by the legacy of Miyamoto Musashi, Wa Rei Ryū continues this centuries-old sword tradition—see them in action at Japan Impact!

Over two days, you can briefly and safely try a few basic strikes and cuts (kihon waza) and codified combat situations (kumitachi) using bokken (wooden swords).

It will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the samurai and their martial practice at their booth.
