Dive into Japanese humor at Japan Impact with a manzai workshop!

Manzai is a traditional form of Japanese comedy featuring a duo: the Boke, who makes absurd remarks or offbeat actions, and the Tsukkomi, who puts him in his place with cutting lines.

In this interactive workshop (animated on Zoom), you’ll discover the basics of manzai while learning Japanese in a fun way thanks to practical exercises and improvised sketches.

After an introduction to the roles of boke and tsukkomi, you’ll form duos and choose a team name before creating a mini-sketch in three lines. The workshop ends with a presentation of the sketches in front of the other participants, for a fun and enriching moment combining humor and learning Japanese!
