Hall-Kamishibaï

Meet little K
“Le Musée des contes” invites convention visitors to the Hall-Kamishibaï for an introduction to the art of kamishibaï. Introduced almost a century ago in Japan, this medium of communication was carried by storytellers on the luggage rack of their bicycles. Thousands of children flocked to the street corners of Japan’s cities to listen to stories told in pictures. The Vevey-based Musée des contes et récits invites you to discover a selection of tales, legends and other invented stories from Japan and become a reader in your own right, transporting listeners for the duration of a story from the depths of the ocean, to the edge of a forest or the summit of Mount Fuji, landscapes populated by human and non-human beings.
